Virginia DMV Releases ‘No Tread On Me’ License Plate For Cars With Bald Tires
At a press conference on Thursday, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles announced the release of its new ‘No Tread On Me’ license plate specifically marketed toward drivers of cars with bald tires.
The new license plate is intended to generate revenue for the Virginia State Police and will provide much needed funding to support enforcement of the Vehicle Safety Inspection program.
The plate, which will depict a slippery eel on a yellow background, is expected to be popular among drivers of poorly-maintained vehicles and is intended to alert other motorists to keep their distance.
In response to the announcement, the Nissan Altima Drivers Club issued the following one-word statement: “Finally.”
